It’s about the great commission

Humble Beginnings

Faith Academy began as a dream . . . the dream of a few missionaries who envisioned a place where their children could grow and learn. These parents confidently placed their vision for a school in the hands of God and watched as He took their dream and formed it into reality. The school began with donated books and equipment in a rented, large, old house on V. Mapa Street in Manila. The home served as both classrooms and dormitory. Forty-seven students in grades 1-8 and six teachers began this journey of faith on July 15, 1957. The school quickly outgrew its facility, and land was purchased about ten miles east of Manila. During the summer of 1962, the school moved to the new property. The 1962-63 school year opened with 212 students.

God’s Faithfulness

There are many chapters in the story of God’s faithfulness to Faith. A particularly noteworthy one occurred on November 19, 1970 when the school was severely damaged by typhoon Yoling. Sixty percent of the campus was destroyed. Gratefully, there were only three minor injuries. As the news went out, God faithfully began to bring in the funds and expertise to rebuild. By January 8, 1971, reconstruction of the classrooms was far enough along so all classes could resume. God provided over and above our needs and Faith was not only able to rebuild but a number of expansion projects were completed with the additional funds. According to one staff member, “God has turned our disaster into one of the best things that has happened to Faith Academy.

The Faith Challenge

For over 60 years our prayer and purpose at Faith Academy has been to encourage the Lord’s Kingdom work throughout Asia by partnering with missionary families and providing education for their children. The mix of students, families and cultures God brings together every year provides a unique opportunity for students to acquire a Biblical worldview. Looking to the future, we plan to make it easier than ever for missionaries to get to the field and stay there by offering their children a high quality, Christ-centered education tuition free. We call our plan The Faith Challenge.

Our desire is to make Faith Academy accessible to a larger pool of missionaries...from North America, Europe, other parts of Asia, or right here in the Philippines! No matter where they are from or where they are serving, we want missionaries to have access to this fantastic critical support system so they can do their important and pioneering work for the Lord.

Please pray for this amazing opportunity we have to be an even greater part of the fulfillment of God's Great Commission! And please let us know what God is doing in your life and how we can pray for you!

Here is a short video explaining The Faith Challenge. Would you please take a moment to watch it? We would love to hear your thoughts.
